Gosh, I feel like I owe an apology, or at least an excuse… for not having posted on my blog in months. I’d like to say I was taking a break after writing and teaching my book, The Shepherd’s Voice, this past year. But maybe I was just catching my breath. I’d like to think of it that way. I have been allowing God’s breath to fill me, rhythmically, this summer, and it has been good. Maybe it is a time when my inner well is being filled. Let it be so, I pray. I feel full, anyway.
Today I want to share my voice in a new way. Rather than words on paper (or screen), I want to share a podcast in which I was invited to speak about The Shepherd’s Voice. Cayce Harris and Anne Marie Bailey lead and direct the One ministry in San Antonio, Texas, (theonejourney.com) which provides multiple services and experiences to lead people in connective prayer. It was, in part, through their series 49 Days of Hearing God, The One Journey, and the One Circle groups that God reignited my interest in listening prayer and helped me formulate a personal practice of hearing God in daily prayer, which inspired The Shepherd’s Voice.
In the following attached podcast, Cayce and Anne Marie prompt me with questions, but mainly give me a chance to share how my book came to be and why it can be an important tool for others. This podcast will give you an inside look at my own listening prayer practice, the difference it has made in my life, and what you can expect by working through my book.
